A Bit About Me
Pooja holds a MD and MS in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from MIT. During her graduate training, she was particularly drawn to psychiatry and her clinical and research experiences have focused on working with the psychiatric patient population. She previously conducted research at the Program for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Studies at Weill Cornell, looking at VR as an adjunctive treatment for pain management in burn patients. She has found these opportunities in combination with her own journey with mental health have given her the unique lens of thinking from a patient and provider’s perspective on the current inadequacies of mental healthcare. Pooja is passionate about leveraging her background to implement the design process such that patients’ voices are heard and their personal experiences are reflected in the products they are consuming.
